Raining

So it was pouring when the pizza guy came and dropped off dinner... Sucks for him.. I tipped him good, so I'm sure it was worth him getting a little wet. Kids dug into the pizza and I think there is maybe 3 pieces left! They are really wound up tonight! They have now been in public school for 2 weeks, and I got an ear full tonight from both of them about the language that the kids use on the playground. Woah! I think that the word "bitch" is a fourth grade version of "hey there" because my youngest son told me how frequently its said... I know I cursed when I was his age, but I never told my parents about it, and I'm pretty sure I never did it in front of any grown ups at school.... Oh well, it's part of growing up I guess. I knew they would both be exposed to things they were not used to hearing, and I think it's good for them not to live within the shelter of parenting where they don't understand the real world...
It's just weird to hear my eight year old tell me about his day at school and listen to the litany of curse words he heard. Like I said before, I had a horrible mouth growing up, and my grandmother always used to tell me that if you used a curse word, i.e. "Fuck, shit, etc." that there was always another word you could use that was more powerfull that you could use as a substitution. Good advice! I try very hard to use those substitutions whenever possible... If you curse a lot, it's also a good way to learn new words! :) Needles to say, I learned quite a few to use when I was angry (And around her!) :) Gotta clean up from dinner and get out of these work clothes. Also have to start some laundry. I see that my blog has been read about 60 times, yet there are no comments... Starting to wonder if what I write is not interesting or if it's not condusive to feedback... Anyone reading?
