I work for tmobile and not even I can get the subsidy password. There are only certain limited people that know it. Your best bet is to by a usb cable for your phone and go to a website that will sell you the password for a small fee.

A motorola that my girlfriend bought was locked. It said she needed a subsidy code. she tried to guess and now it says to contact the service provider... Is there a way to reset the phone manually or is she out of luck?

your Girlfriend's Phone isn't messed uo yet. You just need Patience.
Put In a Sim Card (no matter which one) and switch the Phone on. Type in The PIN...then The Phone should say "Contact Service Provider" now just leave the Phone switched on, without trying anything. After a couple of Hours you should be asked about a Subsidy Code again. Normally The Periods of Waiting get longer. First time should be 30 Minutes, 2nd Time about an Hour...and the the number of Miss-Tries Multiplied by 30 Minutes.
So 3 Wrong tries, mean 1.5 Hrs to Wait.
So try to get the Right Subsidy Code, or a suiting SIM and you will be fine!

Did anyone find a way to unlock the RAZR for use with T mobile? What, if any, software programs are needed and also what kind of data cables, if any are needed? Or does anyone kind out there know what to do to fix this situation?

you have to reflash the phone
in order to use a sim card that is not from your provider... A good site that has all the software (or will tell you where to get it) is over at www.motox.us. They have download bundles called Monster Packs... When you take a look at the description, you will see the words "Unlocked by MotoX" when you boot your phone using these flashed versions of the firmware, the phone will not care what kind of sim card you have in the phone... Hope this helps!

You don't need any code to unlock the phone, simply reflash the phone using updated firmware that already unlocks it for you... Besides, it's free..... All you need is a 3 dollar usb cable and software that you can find on the Internet. Read through the comments or do a search on this site for "seem" or "motox" you'll find your answer.

Do you have a usb cable to connect to your computer? Once you get the monster pack, you need to download the software to install it on your phone, but you will need the cable to get the job done.
