How do I convince them?
Back in November, my friend showed me TheAntiTerrorist and informed me about fluoride. Upon reading more, I did the most that I could to eliminate things like fluoride and MSG from my life. I had already avoided aspartame, and I now will avoid giving my children vaccines. There are certain theories I disagree with, but upon reading all that I have read, I can't quite look at the world the same way again.
Anyway, my friends and family are telling me how stupid and irrational I am, how I've been listening to crazy people, how fluoride is good for me, how MSG and aspartame and vaccines have been proven safe, and there are no studies proving otherwise. They seem to still believe in the bearded man with the tin foil hat living in the basement as the only kind of truthist out there.
How do I convince them that there are tons of scientific studies proving the dangers of these things? I'm not trying to convince them to avoid these things, but I'm just trying to show them that there is actual TRUTH behind what these things are saying.

Everything is going according to plan: the eurozone is in deep recession; banks are selling assets and rationing credit, exacerbating the downturn; unmistakable evidence of weakening performance in China and the rest of Asia.

Barney The Fucking Dinosaur
There is one culprit for the change in today's society...
Barney the Dinosaur.
While the idea is laughable, its also based in fact. Today's teenagers can almost be referred to as the Barney Generation; they have grew up as young children with Barney and his television show peers, they gave one message, and one message alone: You are special.
The previous groups of television shows, Mr. Rogers, Mr. Dressup et al; didn't teach this; they beamed the message of friendship, creativity, community, basically good decent morals. Now before I sound like a preacher, hear me out.
Most young people today are very very very narcassistic. Most teens have webpages centred around themselves; youtube is full of videos by teens doing nothing but sitting around; for years these kids have been taught they are the centre of the universe, and everything is there to service their needs. They learn nothing of giving back to the community.
Everything is me me me. Now, look closely, there's a really strong divide among a few years. Those in my age group: those born in 1975-85 are more or less traditional, sure we get in trouble, but really, there isn't much horrible acts from people from that age group.
Those after 1989 however, they group up with the Barney shows; everything with them is me, me, me, and not us, us, us.
Thanks Barney... you bloody purple nightmare.
